Scorched

scorched Scorched
by Carl Grose

Picture tomorrow.

The world is submerged. The scorching sun looms close... too close... And time is running out on the island of Cornwall...

For the last family of survivors who have been left behind on the abandoned island, life hangs by a tenuous thread. When the rescue mission to save them is sabotaged, a young blind girl by the name of May Moon has a vision. From that moment on, she carries a secret deep within her. And the journey she takes across the island will lead her to a very dark place indeed...a place not even the brightest, hottest, harshest sun could bring light to... Cornwall is about to sink without trace, and there's nothing that can be done about it. Suddenly tomorrow doesn't seem so far away....

Using thrilling live performance, a specially commissioned soundtrack, powerful visuals and projected animation (courtesy of our good friend Swiftie), o-region will be taking our brave audience to the edge... and beyond. Keep your eyes peeled for the signs...prepare yourself for a journey into the unknown...and whatever you do, keep a firm grip on your survival manuals...

A "teaser trailer" for Scorched appeared as part of the Cornwall Showcase at the Helford Theatre, Truro College on 30th & 31st October 2003. The production is currently moving into its next stage of development.
