o-region is committed to producing exciting and innovative theatre projects, ranging from site-specific work to newly-commissioned plays.
Our latest project is Superstition Mountain, a new play by Carl Grose about three Cornish brothers who embark on a fool's errand to find a lost gold mine in Arizona...
The Gunwallow brothers are in trouble. Slim's scrapyard has gone belly-up. Dwayne owes money to some bad people. Mark's in love with dodgy Tina from down the pub. And their dad's just popped his clogs and left them on the brink of bankruptcy.
But there's one last glimmer of hope... a legendary gold mine lost somewhere in the depths of the Arizona desert. Only trouble is, no one who's ever found Superstition Mountain has lived to tell the tale...
Blending the spirit of a Hollywood blockbuster with epic music, innovative film and powerful performances from three real Cornish brothers, Superstition Mountain is a dark comedy adventure exploring the intimate bonds and savage divides of brotherly love.
Three brothers... One last chance... No hope in hell!

A day before opening night, John Crooks (tech man) comes down with something bad. The boys reveal the ancient Cornish tradition of sealing the gold. The set's cleared and everything's packed ready for opening week in Plymouth....
As opening night approaches the Superstition Mountain team put the final touches to the play. Costumes are finished, the set's painted and Carl reveals one of the secret surprises at the close of the show....
The Brothers warm up their vocal chords. Dan shows off his latest bit of costume. The boys start on the filmmaking with Mark Jenkin. And Simon nearly has an aneurysm from laughing too much.
Simon beavers away behind the scenes as the show producer, while Brett gets fitted for his highly erotic costume as Julia Gunwallow. Nice work from our costume creator, Tracey Dawn Stevens.
